OTTB Wiseguy’s Out – A Case Study of Commitment and Reward

Nov 22, 2008

This show was the last one of the season for us. “Wiseguy” showed extremely well in large classes. He came in second in one of the level two jumper classes with 13 horses! He placed third and fourth in the other two jumper classes. He’s careful and quick. I never would have believed just a…

Mr. Inquisitive – “Hey, They Never Did This at the Track”

Dec 20, 2008

“Qu” (Mr. Inquisitive) was so good today. He put up with us rearranging antlers, trying on ones that had jingle bells but wouldn’t stand up. He was probably getting a little annoyed! He’s out with my older gelding tonight and they are getting along well. Suzie

Casper Captures New Mom’s Heart

Sep 7, 2008

Familiar Ghost, “Casper”, has been with me just over a month. And what a month it has been! As you and I discussed, I’ve been riding a long time. I’ve really liked a couple of horses, downright disliked fewer, and have had a so-so relationship with some. The horses I rode were always for sale…

Irish is Still a Goof

Sep 20, 2011

Hey E! Just wanted to let you know Irish is doing great! We’ve moved to a barn that’s better for our needs and he is thriving! He is competing in a little dressage show this weekend and am excited to see how he does. Were taking it nice and slow and he is full of…

Propensity for Boo Boos – Mom Considers Bubble Wrap

Jan 15, 2008

He has a way of getting more mystery injuries – no matter how many times we “Cadence-proof” his stall and the pastures, he finds a way. I should’ve known that he would be one of those mischievous ones from his former knee injury!

Nov 15, 2009

Just wanted to let you know that Admiration aka “Huey” now belongs to Jane Morley of Schuyler, VA – the same Jane Morley that owns Caritas and Cat. Nice to keep it all in the family 🙂

Ikon Is Great!

Apr 26, 2009

Ikon is doing great. We had some cousins come visit us and they each got “pony” rides on our boys. Ikon was the overwhelming favorite. They thought he was so sweet and gentle. I felt like a proud mama!! Hope all is well with the horses/dogs at Bits and Bytes!!

Update on Our “Kid”

Oct 18, 2010

Snowdance Kid was a horse for sale at Bits & Bytes Farm when he was purchased by Beth Hutchison in October of 2006. We are happy that after four years he is still enjoying cross-country jumping! We are proud of this pair! We look for lots more great Snowdance Kid Success Stories.

Always a Thrill – Another Former OTTB’s First Canter

Oct 5, 2008

We cantered for the first time today! I was inspired watching “Hollywood” and his mom, Cherie, as they cantered for the first time, they looked so happy working together. Bubs and I just had to try it. We needed the lunge line to get there but with Elizabeth’s encouragement, Bubba went forward like a champ.…
