Ex-Race Horse, Leader Board Scores Big!

Sep 23, 2008

Leader Board is AMAZING!!! We love him so much already. I think that some people at my barn were skeptical of getting an off the track horse, especially since I haven’t been on one in a few years, but he is proving them wrong. Within the first day, people were commenting on how quiet and…

Midtown Manhattan – Trooper at Home and Happy

May 23, 2008

Mattie got to our farm (Fox Stone Farm) around 9:30 this morning and the weather was awful. Her first day with us was a spa day. She got a bath and a pedicure. Mattie was such a trooper, it poured all day and there was terrible lightning. She is such a sweet heart and loves…

A June Affair Finds a Home in Tennessee

Nov 10, 2010

I must admit that I felt like a kid on Christmas morning as I waited for you to pull down the driveway with my new horse, A June Affair. It doesn’t seem to matter what age I get to be because I never loose the joy and love a beautiful horse gives to me. Especially….the Thoroughbred. The incredible, wonderful, big hearted OTTB!

If Wishes Were Horses, Then Beggars Would Ride

Oct 29, 2011

I sure wish I had had a clue just how good thoroughbreds are to work with years ago…..I do soooo enjoy it—they really are a horse all thier own just as much as any Arab… One of these days I may get lucky with lotto or something in which case I would need to to find me one of my very own…lol. Thanks again for all of the pleasure and wholeness you introduced back into the family thru Sush—prayers and best hoping you find homes for all those other “Sush’s” you are working for right now….and ps—-how is my girl Great Game looking?—any chances for her to find someone yet?—I sure hope so…..

Cadence Blows Town Before Hurricane Ike

Sep 19, 2008

We survived Hurricane Ike. Whew. I was able to get Cadence out of town and farther north before Ike hit. He has been enjoying being out in a pasture with several other horses. They’re grazing, relaxing, and enjoying the vacation – while we’ve been without power and water for a while. I was very fortunate and had my water restored on Sunday and power came back last night. Thankfully, I’ve heard from the barn and no one was injured and the horses that stayed are doing okay. Everyone is still without power, but all in good health.

Straight From the Horse’s Mouth – Tucks St. Aly Checks In from Texas

Apr 13, 2009

Well, first off, let me tell you, the honeymoon is over! This girl now, instead of giving me 3 peppermints every time she comes to see me….now only gives me maybe 3 or 6 per day. Imagine that, peppermint consumption going from 30 per day to only maybe 6 per day….I’m sure you feel for me. Not only that, but we are finally in a dadgum thing called a ‘regime’. Instead of getting 4 or 5 meals a day, as when I first got here, it’s now back to 3, and no 30 minutes early stuff either.

I Get By With a Little Help From My “Friends”

Mar 8, 2009

I would like to write this update to thank Missy Miller for assisting me with Hollywood Vic while I have unable to ride. Yesterday she gave Hollywood a great workout, lunging him as well as riding him. I am proud to say that he was a wonderful. He was very well behaved for her after not having anyone on his back for almost a month!

Wiseguy’s Out a Competitive Jumper

Jul 30, 2008

I wanted to send you a success stories update on Wiseguy’s Out. He’s doing awesome. I thought we had him sold to a trainer in Texas but they were looking for a smaller horse. He was reserve champ at local H/J show in the low hunters and showed Level One jumpers at two “AA” rated…

Scottish Water Horse?

Feb 11, 2011

I was just thinking about you this week and about needing to send you an update on A June Affair. Although, I have tweaked her barn name a bit as I thought she needed something a little less plain than June. I call her Kelpie or Kelpie June. Do you know what a Kelpie is? It’s from the Scottish legend of the water horse.
