Putting the Pieces Together
Irish and I have decided to spend one more month training before we show. I’d rather him be 100% confident and so I’m taking it slow with him. He has learned so much and I am just now working on putting all the pieces together.

Hi Elizabeth – Sorry for the no photos…just got a new camera and hopefully some photos to come soon before my lovely horse gets hairy! We did do our first event 9/17-19…Windy Wyoming. We had a ball! Jack Eleanor’s Groom) was very well behaved for such a baby and he never even thought about refusing a fence. I was so proud of him as the distractions were many! Guess it was his racetrack upbringing. He’s beginning to look for the next fence in both the stadium and on cross country and I think he really enjoys his new career. I’m certainly loving him…he’s so sweet! Thank you, thank you. Photos to follow (I hope, I’m technologically challenged!).

“Seary” (Ides Pride) is doing well, she is back in work and doing really well. We are jumping x-rails about once a week. The rest of our time has been spent on flat work, still trying to move her muscle back up where it belongs as you can see in the pictures I have attached she has a bit of a baby belly.

I cannot begin to tell you what a difference you have made in the both of us in such a short period of time. I no longer have an issue with him planting his feet and not moving to go back in his stall, and you would be proud of me, I have not offered him a treat as a bargaining tool, he remembered your teaching — go in the stall or move your feet ! I have reinforced this the day after you left by doing exactly what you showed me! I think he’s in state of shock because ‘MOM’ went from giving him treats to pinning my ears when I ask him to do something. . .

An update from trainer, Caileigh: “Woody” has been wonderful and his owners are absolutely in love with him. They have renamed him, “Gus” and his show name will be “Blind Date”, which we all thought was very appropriate! We have been having a blast with him. We gave him a bath today and he drank…

Maverick was relaxed all day. He is no longer pacing the fence but instead ventures out to join the herd. Everyone is commenting on how beautiful he is of course, and add to that that he is as sweet as can be, I would say he is just about perfect.

I still have not sat on Carmac yet. I am taking things slow and trying to do this correctly. I started lunging him in side reins this weekend so that he can get used to contact and he is doing great! I have him doing transitions and even some stretching on the lunge line. I…
