This is long overdue, but I wanted to say “thank you,” Elizabeth and Barry, for helping me make one of my childhood dreams come true. Ever since I can remember I have dreamed of having a horse and hoped that one day it would be fulfilled. You have no idea how happy, excited, and thrilled I am to finally to say my dream has been fulfilled by a very special horse named Barbo.
From the first time I saw him he stole my heart as well as my family’s and I knew he was special. With each following visit, I fell more in love with Barbo and knew he was the horse that was going to fulfill the dream that I had for so long. Having Barbo in my life has made me feel so very complete and content.
I also wanted to say “thank you so very much” for making this experience so pleasant and wonderful. I never imagined that I would be as lucky to meet such a special horse, but two special people in the process. You both have shown so much kindness, compassion, dedication and warmth to both me and my family and I appreciate that from the bottom of my heart.
Now for an update….over the past months I can feel that my bond with Barbo has grown stronger and the trust between us has increased by leaps and bounds. Getting to know and understand him has been an incredible experience. He is my oasis when I need to relax and get away. All I need to do is take one look into those big brown eyes and feel the soft nuzzles on my neck to know that everything is going to be ok.
He is SO PATIENT with me being a new rider and horse owner and encourages me to become a better one. I love it when he knickers at me when I approach his stall and he seems excited to see me, but also on the flop side I can tell when he is upset with me when I have been away for to long. He really knows how to get to my heart. We LOVE trail rides together in the woods! He is awesome and never gives me any trouble. I know that every time I get on him he will take care of me and we will have a great time.
He truly is a family horse though. I never would have imagined how amazing he is with little kids. He takes such care of them when they are on his back! When Chase and Emory rode him, he walked as if he had a carton of eggs on his back. Nothing was going to stop him from taking excellent care of such young riders. Everyone in the family has ridden him; even my Mom who is very scared and intimidated by horses has ridden him and feels very comfortable and safe. He truly is an amazing horse and is a very special member of my family.
Today was a big milestone for me. We learned how to jump a small cross rail at a trot with the help of you, Elizabeth. Barbo did wonderful and it was so much fun! I could tell Barbo enjoyed it as well. Now we will have something else to practice!
Well, I think that is all for now! I can’t wait for all the new experiences in the future. Barbo is definitely more than I could have imagined. He has given me so much and I am very thankful to have him in my life. I love him with all my heart! Thanks so much for everything.
