Hollywood Vic not only grew a horn for his Halloween costume this year, he has grown to 16 hands! It is official, I measured him today! My little boy is growing up!
We had a blast at the Halloween costume parade at Bits & Bytes Farm. He was such a trooper .He allowed me to put his horn on and all his ruffles without much fanfare. He was so cute as a Unicorn!
I tried my best to look the virgin maiden, but hey, for me it was all about him anyway! I had other plans for his costume but all the pieces did not come together in time, so I am saving it for next year. He made me promise NOT to put those ruffles on him again! I believe he thoroughly enjoyed walking around and posing in the ring with all of his “friends”. The horses were all so calm and collected. They certainly seemed to be loving the attention from everyone.
A month after our first canter around the ring, we have been on several trail rides, as well as jumped cross rails in the ring. This past Sunday was great; we went on our first group ride together with Alpha Boy and Elizabeth, “Bubba” and Melanie, Barbo and Erica, Foxy and Rebecca, Barry and Brewster. I hope I named everyone. Anyway, Hollywood and Bubba had an amusing little competition in the woods. “Bubba” was in front, then that was not fast enough for Hollywood so at one point when the trail got wider and we were climbing a steep hill, he decided he had to move out past “Bubba”. We went through this scenario several different times! I have to say, “Bubba” does meander along, he is so laid back! Typical boys having to “one up” each other!
Hollywood and I jumped a log a couple of times and he was great! He is so willing to please. He has been very patient with me while I have learned to ride all over again. When I am with him on the ground or on his back I feel like my heart will explode I love him so much! I am not sure how I survived before I had him!
