Wolfie Goes to Wellington!
It was our first time there and Wolfie continues to get better as he gains more experience. This was another sleep away weekend beginning Friday afternoon with schooling. Saturday was Hunter classes in the Adult Amateur classes and we placed in two of our classes with a 6th and a 4th. I am pleased as we continued to improve through the day. Sunday was Adult Equitation day and we really settled and won two seconds, a third and a fifth. We are getting much better at finding and keeping our jumping pace and hitting the proscribed number of strides.

“Cadence” aka Cold Cash – we qualified for the Southwest Dressage Championships last year (Oct 2008) and we placed 6th with 66.4% in Training Level. In addition, we placed in all classes we entered (First Level Test 1 (2nd pl 63%) and 4 (6th pl 58%) and First Level 4 (4th pl 63%)). We ended the year with two 66%s First Level 4 at a schooling show in which I was so proud of” Cadence” because it was the first time he really relaxed and gained confidence in the arena.

Congratulations! Former Thoroughbred race horse Fast Commander pins in all three of his first horse show classes with a first and two seconds! Not bad for afour year old Thoroughbred just ten months off-the-track! We are proud of both Stephanie and Fast Commander.

Today (Sunday) we did basically the same set of classes – but both of us were tired. We placed 6th again in one OF class, 3rd in the US (again about 12 in there) and …. on a lark I went into the flat equitation class to give him more flat class experience since we need more seasoning there and we won! I will not tell you how long it has been since I did an equitation class….!
