First Ride Conclusion: Aly is da Bomb!!!

Feb 19, 2009

Ok, that title looks like not a very good description for a horse, especially one that behaved so fantastically on our first ride together, but he is an explosion of awesomeness for me. I’m still in that silent awe at how sweet Tucks St. Aly is, and how good he’s been to me. On the…

Take a “Taxi” to School

Feb 14, 2011

Tax Hike was awesome at the show. It was her first time in this environment and she was very well behaved. Cait’s been taking lessons at our place or across the street once a week but opted to go to the show without any coaching. She has so much confidence in this horse. Anyway, they were an awesome pair, did fabulous and had a ball. They got a first and a third.

Cadence Steps Up to First Show Challenges

May 22, 2008

I am so proud of Cadence! He was a trooper…after a very rocky start. It took four people two hours to load him on the trailer, which is completely out of character for him because he usually walks right on. This was the first time he’s ever seriously challenged authority, but in the end he did get on. He just was in a very sour mood – charging, throwing his weight into people, even after lunging…finally had to have one of my trainer friends put him in his place and then he loaded. On the return home, he loaded on the second try, no problems.

Whos Cindy Sue is Home!

Jul 19, 2009

I am very excited to report that Who’s Cindy Sue has finally arrived to her new home in Connecticut. She marched right off the trailer like a proud filly and immediately stood like a lady for pictures! She arrived safely, healthy and in good spirits. In no time, she found her hay and water in her paddock and began introducing herself to her neighboring ponies!

Riding Triple Lindy in the Single Digits

Jan 8, 2010

It had been three years since Anne had ridden when she got on her newly off-the-track Thoroughbred filly – Triple Lindy. It was nice to be able to sit in a saddle and hold the reins and just enjoy the ride and the view from above!

June is a Doll

Dec 8, 2010

June (A June Affair)  is an absolute doll and has settled in very well!  She is one of the sweetest horses I have been around and her “racehorse” ground manners are improving tremendously! I did get on her this weekend for the first time and she was as good as I could have hoped for. …
