LOVE IS – When Your New Horse (“Kwinn”) Knows You’re Mom!

Oct 27, 2008

“Kwinn” (aka Dr.Canhewin) was funny tonight when I went to see him. I stopped by after work as I do every evening. The all laugh at me because I wear my office clothes to the barn and into the stall with “Kwinn”. Anyway, he saw my car pull in and apparently was fussing in his…

Our Girl is Working in 3rd Gear

Sep 25, 2011

I have no intention of training anything but a fire breathing diva…..I just don’t think she realized it. She is truly magnificent…I have been waiting for the day when I could start to let her out again and have her understand the difference between race horse and riding horse…..to let her breathe just a bit of her fire again…..now we start….and to tell you the truth…..it has been a very very long time since I have been able to share a horse’s world with them like this. It is always such a priviledge and an honor to be graced with the affection of a horse…esp one of her caliber.

Heather’s Best is great. I gave him about a month off this winter and we have been getting back to work this week. I had planned to lunge him for a few days just to get him back in the mode, but he was so quiet and good, that I just rode him lightly instead.…

Tough Competition Rallies Phil’s Courage

Dec 15, 2008

I have a couple of updates regarding Phil’s Courage. The first update is that I had a buyer for Phil who was ready to write quite a large check and I couldn’t go through with the sale. I broke down in tears and just couldn’t part with him. My husband thinks I have gone insane,…
