Finder’s Chance did great in his first show. Intro Tests A and B. I think he got 69% in Test A and 68% in Test B (even with an error). Except for the entrance and exit, he got all 7s and 8s. He really doesn’t yet have the concept of halting at attention.

OTTB Gold’s Anatomy Excels at Natural Horsemanship Clinic

This past weekend Laura’s Pony Club had a three day Karen Scholl natural horsemanship clinic and Laura took Goldie. The horses had to wear hula hoops and balloons, walk over tarps and have them pulled over the top of their heads. They eventually were riding around with a halter and lead rope with a huge moving pink balloon blowing around in the middle of the arena while Karen cracked a whip. Goldie was a star!!! No one could believe he is a five year old Thoroughbred off the track, he handled everything so well.

Hey Dude – Don’t I Know You from Somewhere?

I am amazed at the intelligence of Thoroughbreds and in particular, my little Bubba. We went to the ring to ride and there was a spotted horse trotting around at the far end. Bubba couldn’t take his eyes off this horse. He kept angling to get closer and twisting to keep his eye on this fancy fella.

Our Best Lesson!

Quick update with Irish Morning Mist. We had our best lesson today. He decided jumpers was fun and put his whole heart into it. I was so amazed and he galloped strong to every jump. He told me he was ready today so we have some shows lines up.
