Fast Commander Endures Many Changes

May 29, 2008

We have had a busy first ten days. My new outdoor arena is under construction & trenching is being done to bring water to the barn & arena, so everything is pretty disrupted around here & riding is limited. Commander has learned to lunge nicely. We are working on his manners around people, which are…

Nothin’ Much Rattles “Huey’s” Chain

Feb 5, 2009

Wanted to send some quick pictures we took over the weekend of “Huey” aka Admiration, since I’ve been promising them forever. This canter is the first time we’ve really cantered – I’ve let him gallop some just to get some energy out, but this time he actually sat back and collected. It was wonderful! As…

Another Happy, Healthy OTTB: Knight Villian

Jan 9, 2009

Knight Villian is doing really well. He’s fat and happy, though his mane would probably make you laugh. It hangs down past the underside of his neck, by about two inches, and tail touches the ground. He has a harem of two geriatric mares, a paint quarter horse and a bay thoroughbred, and he is…

The “A” Team – Camo Carrot Caper

Apr 12, 2009

we spent lots of time in our yard, which he always loves, eating down the dandelions and rye grass and…….getting a few carrots handed to him after he put his head through my mom’s office window and said good morning to her! Anyway, I just can’t believe how relaxed he is in our yard now, he really really loves grazing in it and when we get our front gates up in our drive way, I know he’ll really love being able to be loose in it.

Hollywood Vic Is In Hiding

Mar 13, 2009

After a few seconds, I hear the thunder of hooves behind me, I turn and there is my Hollywood galloping up towards me in the pasture behind me. I said, “THERE YOU ARE!” He looked at me, spun around and ran back up to the door of the barn (that leads to the pasture he was in ) and waited for me! Now how smart is that? He saw me walk by and came to tell me to come and get him! That just made my day, no my week, no my month!

Seven Years – 75 Races!

Aug 22, 2012

My vet says that this is the kind of racehorse that should be bred, since after 7years of racing, 75+ races he still has the legs of a healthy horse. My only regret is that I didn’t buy him sooner.
