OTTB Behren’s Design moves to California
He is doing great. It has been raining here since Friday. It is horrible. I hope to have a dry week so I can get him out. Yesterday his hind right leg blew up. I am hoping that is just lack of getting to move around. He seems to be sound on the leg.
“Special” is Way Too Dull a Word for this Day. . .
I have a hard time calling this a success story; to tell the truth, I have a hard time writing about it at all. Some events feel too sacred to talk about, and my 3rd day with Tucks St. Aly was one such event…The ride that day was superb, we continued our communication, and I think we are beginning to learn more and more about each other; but the best surprise I have ever had was the great highlight of the day. Who can I think of that I am more indebted to than Aly’s original owner and breeder, the person whose very desire to have him was and is responsible for his existence today.
Admiration Has A New Home
Just wanted to let you know that Admiration aka “Huey” now belongs to Jane Morley of Schuyler, VA – the same Jane Morley that owns Caritas and Cat. Nice to keep it all in the family 🙂
Brett – A Champion at Eight
Just wanted to send you an update. Brett turned eight last Saturday (May 22), and he gave me a birthday present! We were champion in both of our divisions, classes of 14 & 16! He was fantastic! I’ve attached a photo of him with our ribbons.

I still have not sat on Carmac yet. I am taking things slow and trying to do this correctly. I started lunging him in side reins this weekend so that he can get used to contact and he is doing great! I have him doing transitions and even some stretching on the lunge line. I…
Stevie Loverboy Celebrates Three Years Off-the-Track
Stevie Loverboy continues to be an OTTB ambassador, always surpassing people’s expectations with his calm demeanor and affectionate disposition. I can’t tell you how many times I have had folks say to me “I can’t believe he’s a thoroughbred, he’s so calm.” People never hesitate to invite us on trail rides, as they know he is so even-keeled.
OTTB Carmac Has a Successful New Career in Eventing
Carmac retired from racing and in a short while has moved up the through the ranks of eventing to the Preliminary Level with Bill Hoos.

Learning Lessons
Hi, guys, I had another good ride on Bounced this weekend—despite the howling wind, storm front coming in, raindrops, horses being ferried in from pastures to the safety of the barn, etc. I still am hoping he will beef up some over the summer, but he’s healthy and content, so that’s the most important thing.…
