Rocky Bear & Elizabeth

Rocky Bear and Bits & Bytes Farm owner - Elizabeth

This Web site was created to tell the stories of the Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds Bits & Bytes Farm has sold. The Mission of Bits & Bytes Farm is to help sellers (of Thoroughbred racehorses for sale) to find buyers who have the ability to transition these horses to new careers. We offer assistance and guidance to make sure the horses we sell are successfully placed. Our Success Stories are proof that Thoroughbred racehorses make great sport horses and family members when their racing careers are over.

When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. They often call or e-mail to thank us for finding a home for a horse they bred or trained. To learn more about Bits & Bytes Farm and our mission please visit our Web site at: www.BitsandBytesFarm.com.

Proceeding Slowly is a Positive Experience for Carmac

I still have not sat on Carmac yet. I am taking things slow and trying to do this correctly. I started lunging him in side reins this weekend so that he can get used to contact and he is doing great! I have him doing transitions and even some stretching on the lunge line. I…

Bato Loco no es loco. . .

Bato Loco aka “Tux” is really getting the idea of what collection is all about. Yeah! Circles are MUCH easier! He still tries to buck sometimes when we canter- No back pain, just a little mischief. I am learning the warning signs and am practicing some distraction techniques to keep him focused on me instead…

Coin Maker Makes Friends at New Home

Hi Elizabeth,  I just wanted to let you know that Coin Maker is doing great.  We had him by himself for a couple of days,  then in a pasture with our “baby” horses (2 3-year-olds and 1 2-year-old).  Yesterday,  we let him out with everyone and,  other than the usual antics,  everyone is getting along…

S.R. King of Queens . . . and Tears

Hi Elizabeth, Oh my gosh, I am in tears looking at the before and after pictures of that sweet boy. This is so, so upsetting to me. As luck would have it, Noah came down to my room because he’d had a bad dream and saw me crying. I didn’t click off the picture soon…
