Thoroughbreds can do

If Wishes Were Horses, Then Beggars Would Ride

Oct 29, 2011

I sure wish I had had a clue just how good thoroughbreds are to work with years ago…..I do soooo enjoy it—they really are a horse all thier own just as much as any Arab… One of these days I may get lucky with lotto or something in which case I would need to to find me one of my very own…lol. Thanks again for all of the pleasure and wholeness you introduced back into the family thru Sush—prayers and best hoping you find homes for all those other “Sush’s” you are working for right now….and ps—-how is my girl Great Game looking?—any chances for her to find someone yet?—I sure hope so…..

Casper Captures New Mom’s Heart

Sep 7, 2008

Familiar Ghost, “Casper”, has been with me just over a month. And what a month it has been! As you and I discussed, I’ve been riding a long time. I’ve really liked a couple of horses, downright disliked fewer, and have had a so-so relationship with some. The horses I rode were always for sale…

6 Months Mine

Sep 4, 2009

September 4th marked the exactly 6 months my Aly has been here in the Wild West Texas. He is an official Texas horse now; he survived his first Texas summer with flying colors, silky coat and good weight! When I have had a longgg day at work and school, I can go down to his…

Fast Commander Get the Blues at “A” Show

Jun 26, 2009

Fast Commander did three days of our local “A” show over the past 2 weekends. We competed in the Long Stirrup division to stay at 2 feet. He won two of the over fences classes, got a 4th in the flat, & had a variety of other ribbons along the way. The best thing is that he seems to enjoy being ridden & enjoy jumping.

OTTB Construction Easily Adapts to New Surroundings

Aug 14, 2008

Construction (we call him “Gus”) arrived at Bits & Bytes Farm on Monday, August 11th. The nearly 30 hour journey to Georgia did not seem to upset him at all. He walked from the road to the barn without any trouble, and he even stopped to munch on some grass. We took the first few…

Punch is a Knock Out!

Apr 10, 2009

We rode him for the first time the third day he was here and he was great! He’s very calm about everything and we walked and trotted around for a while. Yesterday he went on his first trail ride with our other gelding around our property and he really enjoyed it.

Fox Hunting Balancing Act

Dec 19, 2011

It was warm and dry so scenting was going to be tough. We started slowly with ample time for Imatexan to settle in before we hit the first line. I was in the back of first flight and those of us on that tail end happened to see a coyote sneak out behind us and trot off, thinking he had totally outwitted those hounds who must have walked right by him.

Apr 17, 2009

Votive has officially turned four on April 8th. She is doing wonderful and enjoying no snow and mud. She has had her first official “spring” haircut to get her back to her beautiful self. We have done a little work under saddle but awaiting for some dry ground. She is completely spoiled and loving the…
