More Firsts! Canter, Trail Ride, Jump

Feb 26, 2009

I didn’t expect that we would canter so soon, but I was really excited, and I know I was extremely tensed up and I could tell Aly was being a bit pushy for one of the first times since I’ve seen him, when we were trotting on the longe line, waiting for me to be ready. It was so incredible for me to see how after we got into that first canter, how he calmed down, back to the business-like, happy boy that he is. He KNEW that we were ready to step up to the next level, and he didn’t want any backing out on my part!

There are several horses that he hangs out with…I don’t think he is the boss though, but does have buddies.

Propensity for Boo Boos – Mom Considers Bubble Wrap

Jan 15, 2008

I hope that you had great Christmas and New Year’s celebrations! I have been slow to send updates since our December show because Cadence has been in and out of minor injuries. He has a way of getting more mystery injuries – no matter how many times we “Cadence-proof” his stall and the pastures, he finds a way. I should’ve known that he would be one of those mischievous ones from his former knee injury!

Coinmaker Goes to College

Jan 10, 2010

Hey E, Now that marching band is over for this year, Coin went off to Auburn yesterday.  After a few hold-your-breath moments getting the trailer out through the mud and a trailer tire changing session at the gas station (Coin was completely unperturbed throughout),  we got him over to H&G near Leslie’s apartment.  Last year…
