“Shaman” aka Little Silic Digs New Wheels

Jun 23, 2008

I some pictures, I’m sorry they are not glamorous, but we were trailer training. “Shaman” (Little Silic) needs little of trailer training, he was great. He is doing much better too, he has gained some much needed weight, I am so happy he is looking better. He is eating orchard grass hay for $40 per…

I just want to give you an update on Maybe Satisfied. I think he is very Satisfied with his life right now! He settled in very well, and after a few days, was nickering to everyone when they came into the barn. He quickly got over his shyness, and now begs for company and treats!

OTTB Construction Easily Adapts to New Surroundings

Aug 14, 2008

Construction (we call him “Gus”) arrived at Bits & Bytes Farm on Monday, August 11th. The nearly 30 hour journey to Georgia did not seem to upset him at all. He walked from the road to the barn without any trouble, and he even stopped to munch on some grass. We took the first few…

Ex-Race Horse, Leader Board Scores Big!

Sep 23, 2008

Leader Board is AMAZING!!! We love him so much already. I think that some people at my barn were skeptical of getting an off the track horse, especially since I haven’t been on one in a few years, but he is proving them wrong. Within the first day, people were commenting on how quiet and…

Genuinely Happy

Oct 6, 2008

I was just checking in and giving you an update on Genuine Draft. We have grown to love this big guy. He is my mom and sister’s barn favorite! He is so sweet and loves people so much! If I am in the barn he would rather be inside with me than turned out in the field. His training has progressed significantly in the last few weeks! He is jumping around small courses and is doing great. I have attatched a few pictures of him in action.

TK’s Turn Turns Up For Dinner

Nov 29, 2010

TK (TK’s Turn) is such a character – he figured out that my appearance often means dinner or at least treats, so he comes right up to check. He sticks his head through the tack room window while I’m getting dinner ready. He gets along great with Cor (Cortableau) and Tilla (my Appy mare who…

Rap It Up Opens Gates & Jumps – One Month Update

Oct 6, 2009

Rap had a good day Saturday. I worked him in the ring schooling him over ground poles to improve his stride and then over low jumps up to 2′. He is doing great and gets better with each session. I also took him on a nice quiet trail ride after the ring work and he did great on that too! We rode out across the hayfield while the tractors were raking and baling hay, he never paid a minutes attention to the tractors.
