Thoroughbreds can do

6 Months Mine

Sep 4, 2009

September 4th marked the exactly 6 months my Aly has been here in the Wild West Texas. He is an official Texas horse now; he survived his first Texas summer with flying colors, silky coat and good weight! When I have had a longgg day at work and school, I can go down to his…

Austin’s Wolf Exhibits a Wicked Sense of Humor

Dec 9, 2008

A quick update on Austin’s Wolf a former Bits & Bytes Horse For Sale. He has decided to try living up to his name and dug a hole in the pasture then pretended to be afraid of it when we walked by it under tack. HA! He is spoiled rotten. Our coach came over today…

“Special” is Way Too Dull a Word for this Day. . .

Feb 21, 2009

I have a hard time calling this a success story; to tell the truth, I have a hard time writing about it at all. Some events feel too sacred to talk about, and my 3rd day with Tucks St. Aly was one such event…The ride that day was superb, we continued our communication, and I think we are beginning to learn more and more about each other; but the best surprise I have ever had was the great highlight of the day. Who can I think of that I am more indebted to than Aly’s original owner and breeder, the person whose very desire to have him was and is responsible for his existence today.

Aly’s Alpha Boy – Time Flys

May 31, 2010

Elizabeth, Sorry I haven’t kept in touch as often this month. The month flies by and I’m never finding enough time. I have 4 hours or school each day then go to the barn after and ride both the horses so I’m usually exhausted. Anyways, Aly is going great. I took a lesson with my…

Breaking the “Icy” with Mares is Tough

Sep 27, 2008

Another story for you…Icy is getting along fine and does well with Coin, Dudley and the Appys. I think there is a consortium of mares (led by Leslie’s big chestnut Thoroughbred) to keep him from really getting into the herd yet. I found him down in the stall (our barn has a section of wash…

First Ride Conclusion: Aly is da Bomb!!!

Feb 19, 2009

Ok, that title looks like not a very good description for a horse, especially one that behaved so fantastically on our first ride together, but he is an explosion of awesomeness for me. I’m still in that silent awe at how sweet Tucks St. Aly is, and how good he’s been to me. On the…

Muchu is a Superstar

Nov 21, 2011

“Shu” is the superstar of the barn….Patrick is starting to ride her almost exclusively now with me putting in some training rides to work on leg yielding and shoulder in stuff. . .

Title Search aka “Tie” – Variety is the Spice of Life

Nov 26, 2008

I have been very busy and haven’t had as much time here lately to work with my boy (Title Search aka “Tie”), as I would like. He is doing great though. I took him to a clinic to celebrate our one-year anniversary this year. It was a natural horsemanship clinic and he did WONDERFUL! I…
