Rocky Bear & Elizabeth

Rocky Bear and Bits & Bytes Farm owner - Elizabeth

This Web site was created to tell the stories of the Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds Bits & Bytes Farm has sold. The Mission of Bits & Bytes Farm is to help sellers (of Thoroughbred racehorses for sale) to find buyers who have the ability to transition these horses to new careers. We offer assistance and guidance to make sure the horses we sell are successfully placed. Our Success Stories are proof that Thoroughbred racehorses make great sport horses and family members when their racing careers are over.

When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. They often call or e-mail to thank us for finding a home for a horse they bred or trained. To learn more about Bits & Bytes Farm and our mission please visit our Web site at: www.BitsandBytesFarm.com.

Flame Warms the Hearts of His New Moms

Flame is doing great in his new home! He’s adorable and playful like a really big puppy. Mom and I lunged him when he first got here and seemed to be great! So I saddled up and rode with the lunge line for the first couple days. After I was completely comfortable with him, I…

Titania Embodies Grace and Ease

Since I last spoke with you (which was when “Ana” aka Titania, was out with a swollen leggie) I have gotten back on her and restarted everything. She is figuring out how to stretch forward and down, and is figuring out her leads (and even some flying ones)! We’ve done fences a few times, and…

“Woody” aka “Blind Date” is Wonderful!

“Woody” is absolutely wonderful. We couldn’t love him more. He is very very handsome and he went to his first ‘AA’ show several weeks ago and did wonderfully. He placed 5th in one of his over fences in the Baby Greens and couldn’t have looked better or been more confident.

Call Another Taxi

Hi Elizabeth, I was planning to send you some pictures from Taxi’s dressage lesson but they didn’t make it.  Taxi refused to load. We have a 2 horse slant load extra tall and wide but she wasn’t so sure of it. Our dressage trainer was able to come over and help. He started by working…

Rightfully Bragging on Bato Loco

I love Bata Loco! He is such a character. He LOVES jumps. He’ll cross creeks, but he’ll jump them too if I let him. He gets so fired up! We plan to go to the beach soon. That will be an adventure. I also will be taking some dressage lessons with him to see just what he can do in the arena… He is such a treat!
