When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. They often call or e-mail to thank us for finding a home for a horse they bred or trained. Taking It Slow Pays Off . . .
That was around 3 weeks ago. We made quite some miles in the last few weeks. From my last email till now he improved a lot and I decided to give it a try and entered in the Poplar Place schooling show last weekend. And I can tell you he was great…I had entered us in a 2′ jumper class and the Intro A Dressage Test.

I really REALLY like Allegiant, and can definitely see her potential. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. There is no way I would sell her! She hasn’t done ONE bad thing. Mom and Dad can hold her, and they aren’t even horse people. And, I love how she talks to me when she sees me! I know we will go far! Thanks for all your help!

Focus on the Important Things
We began in the arena with some ground work, where River has made tremendous progress (thanks to you, Barry and Daryleen). He worked so well off voice commands today and moved beautifully. We followed this up by a great ride, working on several dressage patterns.

We’re pleased that so many OTTB’s found new homes this week. Several horses shipped together en route to new homes in the south. Bato Loco, Hollywood Pegasus, Icy Event and Leaderboard traveled in style and comfort. But all the traveler’s, human and horses, were happy to make an overnight stop at Bits & Bytes Farm…
