Thoroughbreds can do

September 8 – Lots of New Updates

Sep 8, 2009

We like to keep in touch with all our buyers and see how the horses are doing. Unlike most sellers, we want to hear from our buyers whether the news is good or not so good. We are here to help you transition your new Thoroughbred off-the-track. We are thrilled by your successes. They are the stories that keep us motivated. Thank you all for staying in touch.

More Firsts! Canter, Trail Ride, Jump

Feb 26, 2009

I didn’t expect that we would canter so soon, but I was really excited, and I know I was extremely tensed up and I could tell Aly was being a bit pushy for one of the first times since I’ve seen him, when we were trotting on the longe line, waiting for me to be ready. It was so incredible for me to see how after we got into that first canter, how he calmed down, back to the business-like, happy boy that he is. He KNEW that we were ready to step up to the next level, and he didn’t want any backing out on my part!

Gold Commander One Loves to Play

Feb 6, 2012

. . .a little more than six months later, I’m as happy as ever with him. He’s a very thoughtful, playful, curious and intelligent horse, representing Thoroughbreds very well. He likes to lip ponytails of the girls at the barn; he snatches lead ropes and halters off hooks and tosses them in the air, and; he also likes to drink water out of water bottles – a real ham.

The Big Aly Man settled in His Big Texan Home

May 7, 2009

Even though Aly has days, off and on, when horses neighing crazily in the neighbourhood get him excited, or he just decides he needs to be in his “detective mood” and acts like every twig of grass in the surrounding seeable miles is a possible endangerment to him … he is in general, finally positive…

Callie’s Wright – First Ride!

Mar 14, 2012

I couldn’t wait to e-mail you because today’s first ride on Callie’s Wright went fantastic!!! I was very pleased that she moves really good off my leg, so I don’t have to use much hands. We practiced circles, bending, changing directions. . .

Leader Board is Amazing Everyone!

Nov 24, 2008

Well it has almost been two months since we have had Leader Board. He still amazes me as much as he did the first couple weeks. He has started over cross rails and small logs and such. He is awesome! He never even looks at the jumps, even if we try to make them a…

Lynn’s Vision Needs a Bigger Nose!

Jul 5, 2008

Lynn’s Vision racing toward the finish line for the last time. He was the favorite at post time and broke from the starting gate in the lead. He led the entire race but as he rounds the final turn a worthy opponent, Popular One (currently available as a Prospect Horse) runs astride. It’s a photo…

Maverick on the Move!

Mar 13, 2009

His ground manners and patience are all improving. He’s been taught to be hobbled. I only did this because he was getting to be such a handful camping and on big trail rides, I feared for his saftey and didn’t trust him not to jump to get with the herds. He struggled some, but quickly learned to calm himself. The Sunday afternoon following the Saturday that he was first hobbled it actually paid off in an unexpected way.
