Whos Cindy Sue is Home!
I am very excited to report that Who’s Cindy Sue has finally arrived to her new home in Connecticut. She marched right off the trailer like a proud filly and immediately stood like a lady for pictures! She arrived safely, healthy and in good spirits. In no time, she found her hay and water in her paddock and began introducing herself to her neighboring ponies!

My mail order groom (Eleanor’s Groom) arrived this morning (after three days standing on the trailer – thank goodness he had a box stall). He’s beautiful and seems to be a lovely mover also. I turned him into the arena for a run and a roll before he went into his paddock. He is calm…

Molly and Antioch after just four months have built a bond and trust between them that could never be matched if she had purchased a ‘made’ horse. Starting a young horse or an off-the-track Thoroughbred takes time and dedication. Most teenage girls just want to be showing and winning ribbons not spending time training a horse. Molly is different, she is enjoying the training process and is taking the time to do all the little steps that will allow her to bond with Anitoch and they will become partners. Watch this video of Molly and Antioch and see how doing ground work and spending time has paid off with a special bond. Great work Molly.

We went to the Haunted Hollow Hunter Pace at Ashland, October 18th. We were the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Since most of our Bits & Bytes Farm horses are black or bay, we only took “Dudley” (aka Josh) to be the black horse. Leslie took her chestnut Thoroughbred as the red horse, and Mary…

Today (Sunday) we did basically the same set of classes – but both of us were tired. We placed 6th again in one OF class, 3rd in the US (again about 12 in there) and …. on a lark I went into the flat equitation class to give him more flat class experience since we need more seasoning there and we won! I will not tell you how long it has been since I did an equitation class….!

Hey, I don’t do well with too much time on my hands… with a few lovely days my boys are ready for more. They are on track for a x-c school given they seem bored with small SJ at home – more dressage of course – but we have it ‘please let’s go play!’ Mother…

Tax Hike was awesome at the show. It was her first time in this environment and she was very well behaved. Cait’s been taking lessons at our place or across the street once a week but opted to go to the show without any coaching. She has so much confidence in this horse. Anyway, they were an awesome pair, did fabulous and had a ball. They got a first and a third.

I just got back from Florida with the horses. Lover’s Quarrel (aka “Dante”) was awesome down there. The Ocala Winter II Horse Trials was his first event ever. We put him in at Beginner Novice since we hadn’t even been able to school a cross country course. Three days before the event we took him to Longwood…

“Gus” (Construction) is so incredibly happy with his new career and new home at Bits & Bytes Farm. His personality comes out more and more everyday and I absolutely adore him. He has recently perfected the art of rolling (every single inch of his body gets covered with dust) and decided he has a LOVE…
