Barbo Gettin Down and Dirty at his New Digs

Feb 20, 2009

Barbo is doing great! I think he really likes it at the new farm. He has about 20 acres to run around on and a lake as well….which I know he has been wading in on the warmer days because he comes in all dirty from his belly down…lol. There are several horses that he hangs out with…I don’t think he is the boss though, but does have buddies.

Round and Round She Goes

Nov 7, 2011

I used some warm water to get the worst of the newly acquired mud cakes off of her since this morning and she was fine with that and all—-except….the Show Sheen……now I see her tucking her hindquarters under and elevating her forehand and balance and energy—-when doing a circle….a very small circle….about an arms length actually —around me—while I held the halter with one hand—and sprayed while she ran around me in the other hand…..Patrick was dying laughing and took great pleasure in telling me “Dad—you know she really can step under and cross over pretty well now”

LS – Little Silic or Let it Snow!

Dec 19, 2008

Little Silic aka “Shaman” is doing great. As you know because of recent health issues we have not been able to train recently, however he has gained more weight and he’s blossoming into a wonderful young man. He has grown up a bit, he no longer has the “baby face” anymore, which I will miss,…

Little Silic and the Alpha Mare

Sep 24, 2010

I cannot begin to tell you what a difference you have made in the both of us in such a short period of time. I no longer have an issue with him planting his feet and not moving to go back in his stall, and you would be proud of me, I have not offered him a treat as a bargaining tool, he remembered your teaching — go in the stall or move your feet ! I have reinforced this the day after you left by doing exactly what you showed me! I think he’s in state of shock because ‘MOM’ went from giving him treats to pinning my ears when I ask him to do something. . .

Snow Days Mean Slow Days for Eleanor’s Groom

Dec 1, 2008

The horse (Eleanor’s Groom) is doing great, gaining weight and figuring out his place in the herd. No new bites for a couple of weeks now! He’s happy. My husband (the equine vet, specializing in dental) did a number on him. He had some caps that needed to be pulled and one weird tooth that…

Race Track Training Pays Off at Combined Training Event

Sep 30, 2010

Hi Elizabeth – Sorry for the no photos…just got a new camera and hopefully some photos to come soon before my lovely horse gets hairy! We did do our first event 9/17-19…Windy Wyoming. We had a ball! Jack Eleanor’s Groom) was very well behaved for such a baby and he never even thought about refusing a fence. I was so proud of him as the distractions were many! Guess it was his racetrack upbringing. He’s beginning to look for the next fence in both the stadium and on cross country and I think he really enjoys his new career. I’m certainly loving him…he’s so sweet! Thank you, thank you. Photos to follow (I hope, I’m technologically challenged!).
