Thoroughbreds can do

Farmsick for Bits & Bytes Farm

Mar 8, 2009

I rode Aly again today after breakfast, and lunged and free lunged him first. He did superbly and my mom was extremely impressed with how quickly he obeys the voice cues for w,t,c while lunging especially. I also rode without stirrups for a good 15 minutes or so just to challenge myself and hopefully keep a good seat even though I am coaching myself.

Titania Sails into the New Year

Jan 8, 2009

Titania is doing well! She had a small injury; she was off for a little bit but is now back in work. Her trot work is improving loads each ride. She is a very smart little mare! She has definitely settled right in and is one calm little ride. She met Will, my other horse,…

“Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Carrot”. Communication – Learning to Understand Your Horse

Feb 20, 2009

I think I said yesterday that feeling through that bit, I could feel that Aly and I were talking to each other, and indeed we were, we both knew that each other were there, we both were having feelings, I was all excited and atwitter about being on my own horse for the first time, who wouldn’t be! And he was all busy keeping the girl that gives him peppermints and has been sweet to him so far safe. Today though, not only did we talk, we did something a lot better, we understood each other.

Grey Thoroughbred Horse For Sale – My Isabell- SOLD!

Jun 10, 2013

My Isabell is a gorgeous horse with loads of potential. When I purchased Izzy I was a stay at home mom and thought I would have plenty of time to work with her, but I have had to go back to work full time and sadly that means she is not getting worked much at all. Izzy is incredibly smart and sensitive with a great work ethic. She likes to be out doing things and learning and I just don’t have the time to give her what she needs. I would love to see her go to someone who will put her in a regular program where she will be mentally and physically stimulated.

No Bouncing on the Trail Ride

Oct 1, 2010

Bounced did well on a 9/25 trail ride in the Flint Creek area of eastern Oklahoma, hopefully the first of a few warm-ups for the Hunter Pace in November. He has been working nicely in open pasture at home, but this was his first off-campus experience since coming to Oklahoma. He went willingly, straight in…

Barnwoodbo aka Bo has a “Purr-fect” First Ride

Sep 21, 2008

Thought I would let you know how we made out with Bo. I ran up on Friday morning to get him from the training center without my daughter because the window of opportunity was small. Now I have bought horses from pictures before but this is the first time the horse has looked better than…
