Thoroughbreds can do

Diplomatic Conversions

Aug 29, 2011

Hi Michelle and Elizabeth, I hope this note finds you both well, along with your respective families. Memphis got a respite from ridiculous temperatures and humidity, to Goldie’s and my benefit. His skin and coat look good…the bumps are gone. He is sweating more naturally now. I think you can tell from this photo that…

Knight Villain Building Trusting Bonds While Having Fun

May 19, 2009

Former race Thoroughbred horses, Joe Bean and Knight Villain enjoyed trail riding at a neighboring farm. Joe Bear schooled some cross country fences, and Knight Villain got to explore some new trails and enjoy the sights and sounds of early spring.

Bubba Leaves Bread Crumbs in the Forest

Sep 20, 2008

Bubba and I had the best time today! We went on our first trail ride at Bits & Bytes Farm. The other evening Elizabeth and Classic Casey had given us a quick tour as it was getting dark. Today, Andi and Bounced led Bubba and I through all the trails and we loved it! Bubs…

Just Call Me Bubba

Jul 6, 2008

I can hardly breath watching Elizabeth and Barry drive the horse trailer toward the barn. I’m certain I held my breath for five minutes, until Elizabeth opened the side door and I crawled in to see my new horse, Lynn’s Vision. And there he is, calmly looking right back. Chance is doing great. I am just thrilled with him. He went to his first combined test this past weekend at Full Gallop Farm in Aiken, SC and was very good. He ended up third in the amoeba division. He is jumping bigger at home but I didn’t want to overwhelm him at his first…

Building a Bond with an OTTB

Jul 24, 2010

Molly and Antioch after just four months have built a bond and trust between them that could never be matched if she had purchased a ‘made’ horse. Starting a young horse or an off-the-track Thoroughbred takes time and dedication. Most teenage girls just want to be showing and winning ribbons not spending time training a horse. Molly is different, she is enjoying the training process and is taking the time to do all the little steps that will allow her to bond with Anitoch and they will become partners. Watch this video of Molly and Antioch and see how doing ground work and spending time has paid off with a special bond. Great work Molly.

Admiring Glances for Kwinn’s Kind Eye (and Natural Talent)

Dec 16, 2008

“Kwinn” (Dr. Canhewin) is doing so well. He looks wonderful; putting weight on and and his coat looks healthier too. The Famotidine and now the probiotic with antacid seem to be working well for him. I don’t get enough time to ride right now, so he really needs to build back up. He gets tired…

Hey Elizabeth, Thought I would send you a short clip of Carmac and Bill Hoos schooling the intermediate road crossing at Ocala last month! He is such a cool horse, I just love him! Hope all is well! Hope you enjoy, I had a video of all his schooling highlights but it was taking so…
