Rocky Bear & Elizabeth

Rocky Bear and Bits & Bytes Farm owner - Elizabeth

This Web site was created to tell the stories of the Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds Bits & Bytes Farm has sold. The Mission of Bits & Bytes Farm is to help sellers (of Thoroughbred racehorses for sale) to find buyers who have the ability to transition these horses to new careers. We offer assistance and guidance to make sure the horses we sell are successfully placed. Our Success Stories are proof that Thoroughbred racehorses make great sport horses and family members when their racing careers are over.

When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. They often call or e-mail to thank us for finding a home for a horse they bred or trained. To learn more about Bits & Bytes Farm and our mission please visit our Web site at: www.BitsandBytesFarm.com.

“Casper’s” Friendly Halloween Message…

The new website looks great! I love what you did with “Casper’s (Familiar Ghost’s) site.” Terrific! “Casper” is doing well – actually jumped him over a very small “x” two weeks ago. He wasn’t all that thrilled, but I certainly was. I’m unable to ride for a couple of weeks. Wish I could say I…

Mr. & Mrs. “Max” Impact Herd

It has been so hot down this way that “Max” (Maximum Impact) has been getting a break. The humidity and the temps have pushed it where it was like 103 degrees. So until it cools off “Mr. Max” is having a vacation but as soon as it cools off he will be getting back into…

Runaway Groom – I think not.

I’m forwarding some pics my daughter took of me and my new groom. I’m having a wonderful time with him. We had our first canter today! He is very quiet (hasn’t done anything stupid at all!), smart and willing. In fact, I’m reading the book “Beyond the Track” and he doesn’t fit in at all!…

When Can I Ride my New OTTB?

I just wanted to let you know what we have been doing lately. Votive has settled in extremely well here in Vermont. She goes outside in the round pen for a couple of hours every day, she doesn’t like bugs so we don’t push it on time outside. Yesterday, she had her new shoes put…

Tucks St. Aly Has a New Companion

Our goats are beginning to have babies again so they are separated in different pastures, so Aly has a pasture of goats above and below his two pastures and paddock and I think he quite likes it that way. The tiny baby goat was born probably a few feet from Tucks St. Aly this morning – she is quite a few inches shy of a foot tall.
