When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. Gold Commander One Loves to Play
. . .a little more than six months later, I’m as happy as ever with him. He’s a very thoughtful, playful, curious and intelligent horse, representing Thoroughbreds very well. He likes to lip ponytails of the girls at the barn; he snatches lead ropes and halters off hooks and tosses them in the air, and; he also likes to drink water out of water bottles – a real ham.
The “A” Team – Camo Carrot Caper
we spent lots of time in our yard, which he always loves, eating down the dandelions and rye grass and…….getting a few carrots handed to him after he put his head through my mom’s office window and said good morning to her! Anyway, I just can’t believe how relaxed he is in our yard now, he really really loves grazing in it and when we get our front gates up in our drive way, I know he’ll really love being able to be loose in it.
Let It Snow in West Texas!
Maverick (Light Artillery) is doing great! Today it actually snowed in west texas and I took some picts of the flurries on his mane! He’s still a talker, whinnies for me any time the back sliding door opens or when I get home!
Brett – A Champion at Eight
Just wanted to send you an update. Brett turned eight last Saturday (May 22), and he gave me a birthday present! We were champion in both of our divisions, classes of 14 & 16! He was fantastic! I’ve attached a photo of him with our ribbons.
Hunting in Reverse
Wow. . . What a day. I had my doubts when we went out but by the end of the first run I knew Imatexan was going to be great! In hindsight, I probably should have picked a better fixture.
Getting Caught Up with Tru Native
Just a quick email to let you know how SUPER Truman is coming along this last week. He is even now accepting lunging with side-reins (very loose) with some cantering. He is getting stronger, balanced and more confident each day. I will be sending off another success story in the next week or so with new pictures of me riding and trotting.
Two Years Off-the-Track! Dr. Kenny Winn
In the two years since Dr. Kenny Winn aka “Kwinn” joined our family, he’s had numerous transitions – 3 barns, 3 trainers, and many new horse friends and routines to adjust to. But, the one thing that he has always been able to count on has been my presence in his life. I’ve learned just how important that is to these horses as I’ve helped him adjust to each new transition.
