Rocky Bear and Bits & Bytes Farm owner - Elizabeth
This Web site was created to tell the stories of the Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds Bits & Bytes Farm has sold. The Mission of Bits & Bytes Farm is to help sellers (of Thoroughbred racehorses for sale) to find buyers who have the ability to transition these horses to new careers. We offer assistance and guidance to make sure the horses we sell are successfully placed. Our Success Stories are proof that Thoroughbred racehorses make great sport horses and family members when their racing careers are over.
When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. They often call or e-mail to thank us for finding a home for a horse they bred or trained. To learn more about Bits & Bytes Farm and our mission please visit our Web site at: www.BitsandBytesFarm.com.

Reign Day Made It Home to Massachusetts!
We have made it home! Nine and a half hours after loading into the car this morning, we arrived home (it was around 6:30), whereupon we unloaded Reign Day and Ty and they met our “crew”. Day was very good. He was a bit nervous, but in a very sensible manner, quietly regarding everyone and everything, and it did not take long before he seemed to be more interested in eating his hay than being nervous.
Bubba and I Met the Tooth Fairy and Her Name is Elizabeth!
Just wanted to send a quick note to thank the “Tooth Fairy” for yanking out Bubba’s second baby tooth in two weeks. Bubs is about four and a half and his physical stature is like that of a teenager. He’s growing up right in front of me – what’s next? shaving? Thanks Elizabeth! You can…
Carrie Rides Again!
Here are some photos of Carrie and Shu—finally the circle is really complete!…Some of them are a bit blurry—but the essence of a rider on a horse—after all these years and in spite of all infirmities…still shows thru—some things just defy every attempt to have their light snuffed out—here is one.
Grey Thoroughbred Horse For Sale – My Isabell- SOLD!
My Isabell is a gorgeous horse with loads of potential. When I purchased Izzy I was a stay at home mom and thought I would have plenty of time to work with her, but I have had to go back to work full time and sadly that means she is not getting worked much at all. Izzy is incredibly smart and sensitive with a great work ethic. She likes to be out doing things and learning and I just don’t have the time to give her what she needs. I would love to see her go to someone who will put her in a regular program where she will be mentally and physically stimulated.
Best of Both Worlds . . .
Hey now!!! I read the update on Shu in the website—-and it was wonderful………except……Dad Chuck gets the best of all worlds…..lol lol—by playing BOTH the parent and trainer card, he gets to keep on riding Shu as well as Game….lol
Just About Perfect – Brat Maverick
Maverick was relaxed all day. He is no longer pacing the fence but instead ventures out to join the herd. Everyone is commenting on how beautiful he is of course, and add to that that he is as sweet as can be, I would say he is just about perfect.
Has To Be Good is GREAT!
I just got home from a three-week annual training with the National Guard so I haven’t been able to email you about Be G. He has put on weight like crazy and he AND “Hotzy” (Red to Hot Handle) are looking REALLY good. It…
Team Grayboo Takes a Winter Break from Competing
Amanda and Grayboo have had an up and down fall competition season. They finished well at training at River Glen in August. Cross-country was easy for Grayboo but he knocked one rail in stadium. He seems to get a little lazy sometimes and knocks a rail, but he hates to knock rails so he jumps…
