Rocky Bear & Elizabeth

Rocky Bear and Bits & Bytes Farm owner - Elizabeth

This Web site was created to tell the stories of the Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds Bits & Bytes Farm has sold. The Mission of Bits & Bytes Farm is to help sellers (of Thoroughbred racehorses for sale) to find buyers who have the ability to transition these horses to new careers. We offer assistance and guidance to make sure the horses we sell are successfully placed. Our Success Stories are proof that Thoroughbred racehorses make great sport horses and family members when their racing careers are over.

When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. They often call or e-mail to thank us for finding a home for a horse they bred or trained. To learn more about Bits & Bytes Farm and our mission please visit our Web site at: www.BitsandBytesFarm.com.

Finally a Great Game Success Story

When Patrick and I composed a success story about Muchu, we felt there real success was us just having her here with us and sharing all of the grace and affection that is Muchu. Great Game’s success story has been a tad more complicated…a tad longer to realize…but not one ounce less powerful for me.…

Leader Board’s Racing Videos Sought by New Mom

Leader Board is doing great and our trainer couldn’t be more impressed with him. He is really a sweet, laid back boy. Which brings me to the question. I think you mentioned that there is a website that has videos you can purchase of his old races. We have recently become very curious how Leader…

A “Familiar Ghost” named “Casper”

Ghost (aka “Casper”) has settled in just fine. He’s a little worried about the golf carts we use on the farm, and he’s not too sure about water troughs, but other than that he’s having the time of his life. He is breath taking and gorgeous. Thank you again for this lovely animal. He is incredible. I loved working…

“Seven’s” Luck Continues with New Owner

When I bought Fuhrluck, aka “Seven”, in July of 2007, I would never have considered selling him except for the fact that my trainer, Dayna seemed to have fallen in love with him. I decided it would be best to sell him to someone who had the time to work with him. To be perfectly…

Clever “Casper” Invents New Game – Crash through the Rails

“Casper” (Familiar Ghost) is doing very well. He’s slowly coming into frame and getting rounder. I’ve jumped him over small stuff, little x’s, and he really thinks about things. I can almost HEAR him thinking, “why jump over this stuff? I can go around it much more easily.” But he’s honest and tries, so I have no complaints! We…

Chipawild – Not At All Wild

Chipawild is doing very well. Doing lead changes and starting to jump small courses. My daughter’s trainer says she is very easy and learns quickly – only has to be shown things once. She still needs a lot of leg and the professional who schools her says she needs to push all the time at the canter to keep her from breaking – maybe why she wasn’t the fastest!

Gold Commander One

Diplomatic Conversions

Hi Michelle and Elizabeth, I hope this note finds you both well, along with your respective families. Memphis got a respite from ridiculous temperatures and humidity, to Goldie’s and my benefit. His skin and coat look good…the bumps are gone. He is sweating more naturally now. I think you can tell from this photo that…

Muchu was a Prospect Horse For Sale on the Bits & Bytes Farm Web site.

Muchu Meets Her Match

I am not sure if this is a success story or not really. The idea of success is triumph over something or winning somehow…and my son and I are just barely getting started. If the measure of success is a new, wonderful, beautiful, intelligent, and yes—sometimes cranky, member of the family that worked herself instantly…
