Rocky Bear and Bits & Bytes Farm owner - Elizabeth
This Web site was created to tell the stories of the Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds Bits & Bytes Farm has sold. The Mission of Bits & Bytes Farm is to help sellers (of Thoroughbred racehorses for sale) to find buyers who have the ability to transition these horses to new careers. We offer assistance and guidance to make sure the horses we sell are successfully placed. Our Success Stories are proof that Thoroughbred racehorses make great sport horses and family members when their racing careers are over.
When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. They often call or e-mail to thank us for finding a home for a horse they bred or trained. To learn more about Bits & Bytes Farm and our mission please visit our Web site at: www.BitsandBytesFarm.com.

Voted Off: Off-the-Track in 2006 Update 2011
It’s been years since I sent you an update, but I thought you might like to know how Voted Off is doing. His primary job has been as my husband’s trail horse for the last 5 years. About six months ago, my 6 year old daughter started riding him too. You might remember a picture of her you posted on your web site on her rocking horse when she was 2. Well, she has swapped out the rocking horse for Voted Off.
OTTB Outflankem aka “Ronnie” Changes Careers
The shipper arrived three hours early, and good thing because we had a heck of storm up here during the time he was supposed to get here! “Outflankem” got off the trailer like a pro, and stood like a perfect gentleman. He was in a brand new place, with the wind whipping, and he could’ve…
Happy One Year Anniversary – “Kwinn” Winns!
Time flies by quickly and well, so has my first year with Kwinn! Just the other day I was reflecting on the sequence of events that led to my writing you a letter and well, within a few months, Kwinn was part of our family. Gosh, I still remember seeing his Prospect Horse page on…
Allegiant – SOLD! June 2009
OTTB Allegiant retires from Thoroughbred racing to begin her second career in dressage and eventing.
Punch Does Dressage
Chaz (Punch) is doing great! He has settled in very well and has made friends with our other horses. We’re keeping him barefoot, so we’ve been letting him adjust to being shoeless for the past few months. His feet are coming along very nicely and he should be sound enough to begin learning to jump!…
Just About Perfect – Brat Maverick
Maverick was relaxed all day. He is no longer pacing the fence but instead ventures out to join the herd. Everyone is commenting on how beautiful he is of course, and add to that that he is as sweet as can be, I would say he is just about perfect.

Carmac is wonderful!!! He is exactly what I expected and more…I am so excited, he is gorgeous a beautiful mover and has the cutest personality. Everyone was so helpful in the transaction of Carmac’s purchase; Mark was wonderful to answer any questions and arranging all of the shipping, Dr. Schilling was great, as well very…
