Rocky Bear and Bits & Bytes Farm owner - Elizabeth
This Web site was created to tell the stories of the Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds Bits & Bytes Farm has sold. The Mission of Bits & Bytes Farm is to help sellers (of Thoroughbred racehorses for sale) to find buyers who have the ability to transition these horses to new careers. We offer assistance and guidance to make sure the horses we sell are successfully placed. Our Success Stories are proof that Thoroughbred racehorses make great sport horses and family members when their racing careers are over.
When a horse is purchased with the assistance of Bits & Bytes Farm, we require the new owners to stay in touch and provide us with updates. These updates are posted on our Success Stories pages so that the sellers of the horses know that their horses are doing well and have not gone back to racing or been slaughtered. The sellers care about these wonderful Thoroughbreds and they too enjoy reading about their horses' successful new careers. They often call or e-mail to thank us for finding a home for a horse they bred or trained. To learn more about Bits & Bytes Farm and our mission please visit our Web site at: www.BitsandBytesFarm.com.

Second Level – Next Stop Third
I’m training full time with Marie Morgan and clinicing regularly with Debbie Bowman. As for my beloved OTTB, Cadence and I are on our journey to Third Level!!!!! He’s such a special horse. He’s been very successful with solid scores in Second Level at recognized shows and have qualified our Second Level Freestyle for USDF/GAIG Region 9 & SWDC Championships. In addition, we are focusing our schooling efforts on Third.
What Every Woman Wants – a Great “Groom”!
I just wanted to let you know how delighted I am with my “Mail Order Groom”. He is beautiful, and seems very quiet and sane and very sweet! I’ve not done much with him as he seems a little stiff and footsore (my farrier has also trimmed him), just some ground work, a little lunging…
Coastside Loves Being Outside!
I moved Coast to a new farm. He needed three-board fencing in the pasture and I decided to move him to a new farm. His stall is 20×24 (big) with lots of fresh shavings! He gets daily turn out with another OTTB. He started training this month. My trainer says he will be able to…

OTTB “Woody” Receives Accolades at New Home
An update from trainer, Caileigh: “Woody” has been wonderful and his owners are absolutely in love with him. They have renamed him, “Gus” and his show name will be “Blind Date”, which we all thought was very appropriate! We have been having a blast with him. We gave him a bath today and he drank…
Trail Riding Triple Lindy
Lindy and I took our first of many long trail rides cross country. I’m guessing it may have been a first for her since she looked at everything. We rode up and down the hills, through the fields and on the trails through woods for about two hours. It was wonderful!!! She was very brave and very honest– no silly or thoughtless moves 🙂 Lindy learned about stepping over logs and by the end of our ride she was a pro.
